University of Mumbai has started a start-up incubation centre, MU IDEAS Foundation to establish a start-up culture that encourages innovative ideas; transform novel concepts into practical industry solutions and viable businesses. It aims to promote setting up of start-ups and support them during their pre-incubation, incorporation and operations phases to enable creation of successful businesses enhancing the overall economic health of the state and country, while generating large scale employment.The incubation center has been supported by University of Mumbai and Maharashtra State Innovation Society (MSInS).

IPR Seminar

The incubation center organized an Intellectual Property Rights seminar to sensitize the audience about patents and designs. The seminar gave an overview of IPR and procedural aspects of patent filing process. Participants from faculty, scientists, students and entrepreneurs attended the seminar.

Design Thinking Workshop

The incubation center hosted a one day training workshop on Design Thinking. This helped entrepreneurs to solve a real world problem, gain an insight into their thought process, innovate and dwell into the world of entrepreneurship with Design Thinking.

 Catalyzing Incubation event

University of Mumbai organized one-day Convention in collaboration with RUSA to create general awareness in the subject of innovation, and to enable creation of facilities towards the development of start-up ecosystems in the State of Maharashtra. Prominent speakers from startup ecosystem gave their insights on different aspects of successful incubation.
