About

The Department of Civics and Politics is housed at Sir Pherozeshah Mehta Bhavan and Research Center, University of Mumbai, Vidyanagari, Santacruz (E), Mumbai- 400098. This is probably the only department that has a state-of-art infrastructure including the Harvard style Virtual Class room. Founded in 1948, the Department is regarded as a prolific center of academic excellence and innovation in social science.
The Department of Civics and Politics was established with the help of two Endowments namely the Mayor’s Sir Pherozeshah Mehta Centenary Commemoration Fund and the Montague Memorial Fund together with a donation from the Bombay Municipal Corporation’s Municipal Fund and a substantial recurring grant from the then Government of Bombay.
