Academic goals of the Department :
To generate interest in Marathi Language & Literature at higher Levels of learning through the following activities :
1) Conducting post-graduate teaching effectively
2)Supervising research at the levels of M.Phil. & Ph.D identifying new areas of research and conducting independent research through various research projects.
3)Organising seminars, conferences, workshops, symposia, refresher courses.
4) Publishing research monographs, bibliographies and scholarly books.
Achievements of the Department:
1) Introduced innovative methods in teaching. e.g. encouraging students to make classroom-presentation; use of aids such as TV/VCR/P.P.T./Internet
2) Organized seminars, symposia, conferences, workshop on various themes. e.g. certain modern discipline and insights were incorporated in seminar themes, such as stylistics, Semeiotics etc.
