The University of Mumbai campus is not bound at one location, rather it is spread across the entire city of Mumbai (Bombay) and the four coastal districts of Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg. The major locations include:
The University of Mumbai (known earlier as University of Bombay) is one of the oldest and premier Universities in India. Consequent on “Wood’s Education Dispatch”, it was established in 1857.
The University of Mumbai acclaimed in 2001, a Five Star Status (by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council – NAAC). It has two Campuses with an area of 230 acres at Vidyanagari Campus, Santacruz, Mumbai and 13 acres at Ratnagiri Campus – Ratnagiri, 325 km South of Mumbai. As of today, it has about 492 affiliated Colleges, over 100 Institutions and 55 Post-graduate Departments of the University imparting education and training to over 6,50,000 students spread over five coastal Districts of Maharashtra, viz., Thane, Mumbai, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg.
