MU records 128% rise in foreign student enrolment over 5 yrs

Mumbai: Mumbai University (MU) has recorded a 128% rise in international student enrolments over the last five years. While in the academic year 2021-22, a total of 113 international students had enrolled with the university and its affiliated colleges, the corresponding numbers in 2025-26, have grown to 258.

The university’s international student base has broadened. While many came from countries such as the UK, Canada, South Korea, Philippines, UAE and Switzerland, among others, students now come from 61 countries, up from 29 about five years ago.
